Interwar countries

During the interwar period, many countries in Europe and some in America like Germany, France, Japan, USA, and China were affected by all the things that happened during that time. This period was between the end of the First World War and the beginning of the Second World War. They suffered economically matters, political, and the society but not everything broke down. The militarism during this period of time rise a lot, especially in the countries were fascism ruled. Germany was devastated after the First World War. They were forced (because of the Treaty of Versailles) to pay all the reparations and the damage they did in the war, especially to France and Britain. The Treaty of Versailles also forced Germany to reduced their military to a certain number. In 1922, Germany and other countries were affect by the great depression. In the Dawes Plan, German borders were sold to USA private investors. It worked a little bit but the great depression also arrived to the Americans. When the stock markets broke down, Germany also broke down. Countries became ruled by dictators like Germany, Italy, Russia, and Spain. Germany by Adolf Hitler, Italy by Benito Mussolini, Russia by Stalin, Spain by Franco and China by Mao. Like Adolf Hitler and others dictators, they became very powerful and the people loved them. For example, the Italians thought that Mussolini could make miracles to people. All the dictators that ruled in that time only made what they want. If another guy had an opinion or believe that was against what the dictator believe, he was killed. They control everything. China was the only one to have a dictator after the Second World War, Mao Zedong. There was a lot of unemployment during this period because of the Great Depression. I really think Adolf Hitler's tactics and ideas would work in other countries in Europe because he was a very intelligent man and he knew how to convince people. He speak in mass meetings with the people to express nationalism, pride and honor. Like the same way he took control of Germany with the Nazi party, he could also take other countries too. I also think that about Mussolini. After the First World War, Germans were angry of loosing the war and they needed to blame to someone. Adolf Hitler was anti-semite against the Jews and he convinced the people that because of the Jews, they were like that economically. I don’t think Francisco Franco would be successful as a dictator in other countries like Hitler or Mussolini. During his power in Spain, he didn’t enter to World War 2 in order to recover Spain from the terrible civil war. I think he was a better ruler.

reflection about Prezi

Prezi is a great page on internet were you can do many cool presentations and other cool things. We used this program to make a presentation about our next 5 years of our life, like our goals and our accomplishments we want to do. I enjoyed working in prezi a lot. When I first saw a presentation/example of a prezi video, I fall in love with it. It feels like being inside it and like if your were watching a movie on a high definition TV. It also interacts you more. This program is better than powerpoint. In powerpoint, you only used slides and it isn't as entertaining like prezi. On prezi, you can do many things easier too. You can embed videos from youtube and you don't have to click a link to open the page, it automatically loads and plays.

I had worked with powerpoint since I have memory, so replacing it with prezi is a huge different. Prezi of course isn't a perfect program were you can do everything in a easy way, it has some imperfections. Prezi doesn't have variety of backgrounds and that really sucks. It had only like 5 different backgrounds. Another thing I didn't like was that you couldn't determine the exactly time you wanted a image to show. I would prefer to work with prezi because I like it and I think it would give a better image of my works I do on the future.

PSA Safe Sex

Write a blog post that reflects on the process you went through in creating your video, what you would like to change about your video, an embedded version of your video, and finally which video from the class you think is the best\

I had a lot of fun making the video for our computer project about safe sex. We did it in my house, were we used the backyard for doing the party, my room and the bathroom. We first wrote our ideas in Google docs, were we planed everything. Then on Friday like I already mention, we went to my house to do the video. We invite Ximena and Courtney to help us to do it better. In the party, we used two bottles of whisky and plastic cups in order to make it more realistic. We used the bathroom for me and Ximena to have our sexual activities. In my room, I described how I was feeling after having unprotected sex with Ximena.
In my opinion, our video was the best one but of course, it has always some imperfections and things that can be change in order to make it better. A change I wish I could make is in the part were we finish doing our sexual activities me and Ximena. It would be better if we show my pants unbuttoned after living the bathroom. I think that it would make it more funny and it would show what we pretended to do in the bathroom.
I saw all the videos from the class and it was very difficult to choose the best one. The one I think is the most funny, understandable, and that is the most orginized and cool of course, is Debora's and Jade's video. Their topic was about how alcohol affects others. They did it very well and I enjoyed it watching it. Their video was very special because they used other characters like Debo's dad and other friends. They also used a video from a real party that they went. The music fit perfectly to the entire video.

A Public Service announcement is a type of advertisement that can be seen on TV, radio, print or in other media.This advertisements are made to help the people by educating and informing. The most common topics of PSA are health and safety but there are more. The army of the USA uses PSA in order to recruit people.

The first guy that I want to work with is with Raul. I Had work with him in many projects and we understand each other very good. We are also very good friends. We can do cool videos together because we arrive to interesting ideas. He is also very good at making videos in the computer by putting all the effects etc. The second option to be with is Xime. She is a very goo friend of mine and we work very good together. We haven't work together by doing a video but I think is going to be alright. She is very good in acting and performing things. The third option is pedro pablo. He is also a very friend of mine and we can do many cool things together. He is the third option because he is a little lazy by doing work but he is alright.

Education- I would approach this subject by first showing teens in the streets without education and then the same guys but in the future ruin in their lives without a job and without money or food. In the end I would inform about the necessity of edcuation in life and how it is so important in order to become something hear in our world.

Drugs- I would approach this subject by showing people in the streets all ruin by the drugs with the face pale and all skinny. Then I would inform how it is bad etc.

obesity- I would approach this subject by showing a fat guy walking and everybody laughing at him. Then I would put what would happen if he wouldn't hat eaten the junk food inn his refrigerator .

My commercial

The video that I saw about the Pepsi commercial would help me a lot by doing my commercial for the computer project.My commercial that I'm going to do is going to be about Nike and how some Nike shoes can actually help you to be better on sports. I am thinking to be with Raul. First someone is going to use other type of shoes and he is going to start playing soccer or basketball. Than another person would do the same but now by using the Nike shoes and he would actually do it better with more skills etc. We would going to do many types of sports like basketball, soccer skateboard, running,doing elasticity, jumping etc.

Pepsi commercial

I saw many commercials and the one that I love the most was the Pepsi. I found it very original and also very cool watching professional soccer players play on the beach. The video first starts with David Beckham, Ronaldinho, Roberto Carlos, Raul and Torres playing volleyball with the fit. Than some surfers kick their ball to the ocean and they started playing soccer instead in the water surfing. Mean while, Thierry Henry instead of surfing he is with some girls drinking Pepsi. This commercial stick in to my mind and it leave me a great desire to go to the beach with some friends, with some drinks and to play soccer all together. This isn't the only commercial that has stick very hard into my mind but I like it a lot.

Romeo and Juliet

In English class with Miss. Baren, we need to make a project with a group of two or more members that consisted in doing a comic book about Romeo and Juliet. We only did a specific act per group. My group was Feris, Marifer and I. We made act 2 and it was a very difficult and funny at the same time. All the days that it took to finish the comic book in comic life were all in computer's class. It helped us a lot being able to use computers to find Spark notes to understand better the play with other words/synonyms etc. By using spark notes and also my text book, I choose all the dialogues and quotes to put it in our comic. Then we went to Feris house to take the photos of what was happening in act 2. Feris house perfectly fit in with the setting of act 2 because it had a balcony, a very cool room that was a little baroque like in that time and a lot of customs. Finally we plugged the pictures to the computers on the school and started doing the comic by writing the dialogues and the narrations. As I already said, this project very difficult but fun at the same time. It stressed me a lot during the project because some of my partners didn't came to school and Feris one's forgot the photos in his house. I think that our project deserves to be put in the library because it is understandable and funny.

Comics are a good way to learn about serious literature like Romeo and Juliet. We made this project as a comic book to summarize the story of Romeo and Juliet and also to be funny. I know that we don't read comics usually to learn something but it can work in that way. Usually comics are cartoon characters with a purpose to entertain the reader with adventures, suspense, death, fights ect but it can be also to teach something, why not?

A day on the bay

In computer class, we made some videos about what we might do if we only live a day in a bay, in PV. My video consist on many photos and short clips that only lasted not more than 10 seconds. I really love this project because I got a lot of fun by making the video and by taking the photos and the short clips. It also helped me to developed my creativity. The theme of my video is FAMILY. I choose that theme because I think that if we only have one day to live I would be spending my time with my family that is the most important thing for me that I love. In the beginning, I thought of many other themes like friends, nature and sports but something happened that let me to only one option FAMILY. I left the homework of taking photos and short clips to the end so because of that, in the last day of the long weekend went with my family to La Estancia to eat all together. I took advantage of that moment to do it.

The process of making my video was very long and a liitle difficult but fun. I first, I took the photos from my iphone and the short clips from my sister iphone. Than I download it to my computer (mac) by using iphoto. I made the video by using imovie. Mr. Picketts wanted us to have in our video 5 photos at least from others so by doing that, I used Raul's USB to translate the 4 photos from the classroom computer to my mac. I got a lot of fun by making my video.

One Day on Earth part two

Today in computer class, we saw two films about one day on earth. This film has many powerful images like the one with the guy jumping with only one leg in the Olympics for handicapped people. This image was very powerful that touched my heart very quickly. When I saw that, I started thinking that if he could do that< i can do it and other many things. That anything is impossible. Another image that was very powerful was the two army guys entering a house. I like that image a lot because it remind me in the video game Call of Duty. This film make me reflect in many things about my actitude with others and how I need to appreciate what I have.

One Day on Earth

The video that we saw in today's computer class was a video made of many little videos of maximum 10 sec each, or clips. I really like it because it showed many cool photos and clips about people laughing, suffering in war, praying, running and other many things. The message in this film is to show us that we aren't the only one in this world with problems, to show us that there are many other cultures, that everything happens to everybody and not only to us. This film make me think in many things relating to my problems that I have in school, with my friends and with my family and that it doesn't relates with the problems that the world has.

Liters and miles

During this past days we made a project using excel and we measure the distance and time we made from our house to school and how much money we spend per year. I had discovered many things about what I spend by going 5 times a week to school and other things. For example, I spend a lot of gasoline and I realize that it contaminates a lot of the environment. Imagine how much waste of gasoline us used everyday in the entire world. This contaminates a lot. I also realized that my parents worked a lot only to buy gasoline to do our daily activities. I really like doing this project because it helped me to think much about what i am doing everyday by using a lot of gasoline.

Measurement chart

We worked on measuring how much gas our car spends each year by going from our house to school and back. The gas that my Escalade 2009 spends each year is 962 liters. This is incredible of how much gasoline we as humans used in a year. Now I am considering how much contamination we put to our environment and that we are wasting a lot of oil, nonrenewable resource. My dream car spend less gas than my Escalade because is smaller. My dream car is a jeep wrangler 2011 and is spends 640.1 liters of gasoline per year. Compare with my Escalade 2009, my car spends 321.9 less per year.

Google Earth Tour

Today on computer class, we saw the videos of our class mates. I saw Raul, Debora, and Paco Google earth tour video.
Raul: His video was very cool and I understand it all. It was very organized in the way he wanted his trip to look. His tour was real because he really went to that specific places on vacations. He went to Miami. Then he went to Disney Land and in the end, he went to New york. The thing I didn't like was that it was very short and it would be better if he would invent more places to go.
Debora: Her video was very organized. I also like it. The thing I didn't like about Debora's video was that her video was a little long. Also because in some places of her trip, it didn't saw the whole city, it was sometimes very pixelated.

Paco: I also like his video. It was very professional and different from others. His video was different in a good way. Each place he had on his video, he wrote a little note explaining what things doeas he wants to do there etc. The thing I didn't agree or dislike was that it was very short.  I like it a lot.

My video wasen't the better one but I like it and I enjoyed making it. The thing I would change if I had the opportunity is to make it longer. Also to have the places that I have less pixelide. The last thing is to put some comments of what things I would like to do on the especific places on my video trip.

JOY

J: In summer, I did many cool things like going to New York with my dad and my two sisters. My mom couldn't go because she was pregnant and the doctor told her that it was very danger. In New York, we stayed in the middle of Times Square in the hotel, Marriott Marquis. I enjoyed staying in that hotel because it was very beautiful from inside and outside. The only thing I didn't like was the food, it was horrible. We stayed 3 days in New York and we went shopping everyday. I buy many things like clothe, one video game, basket ball shoes etc. We also went to historical places to learn like the statue of liberty. It was very fun but we couldn't went inside the statue of liberty because we need it to do reservation a month before. Another place we went was to central park and to the museum of natural history. I learned a lot in the museum of natural history about the dinosaurs, about our ancient ancestors and many other things. In Central Park, we took a tour with a guy who was gay and it was very funny when he was speaking while he was explaining us about all the important things that were in that park. I get a lot of fun.

 O:  There are many  things that I want to do for my selve but I only going to write about one. One thing that I want to do for my selve is to work a lot in the gym and in other sports so I can become stronger, healthier and hotter :):):):):)hahah. By doing this, I could become healthier physically and mentally. This could help me in school in my homeworks and in my participation in class so that my grade could go up. Another reason that I want to do this for me is because I would get a girlfriend easier instead of being fat and all discusting :).  Being physically strong could help me to be a better fighter in taekwondo, and in muay thai. By being physically strong, would help also in other sports like in basketball with my condition while I'm runing etc. This is one thing I want to do for my selve.

Y:    Everybody is special in many aspects and ways for example, one guy could have a great heard and another guy could have strong legs.  In this paragraph, I'm going to write about what part of me makes me very special. I'm a very special kid who everybody loves specially my mom and my dad:):):), but I need to have something that makes me how I am. I am a short kid compared with my class mates but I have a lot of friends and not only in this school in the diferent grades, I have in other schools etc. By being a short kid, it makes me special from others. Another thing that makes me special are my beliefs. My family and I are the only ones who are mormons, that is a different religion in this school. There were many people who treat me different because of my beliefs but that changed when they started to know me better, and now, I always hang out with them. Everybody is special in this world, and by being special, we are different. This are some ways I'm special from other at my school etc.

Typing Tracker

For this entire year, we made Typed for several minutes each class in a program called Typing Master. This really helped us to improved our typing a lot especially me. At the start of the school year, my net speed was 17 and 18 words per minute. Now I have 29 or 28 words per minute. I think that I need to type a little faster like 332 words per minute. It was very boring doing typing as a course through the entire year but I think that it would be a good idea to have it in ninth grade. It would be a good idea because it would totally help us in the future a lot.
